Reformer class types

Level & intensity

Classes without a level marker are open to everyone — suitable for beginners too. Level (beginner / advanced) describes the knowledge and execution of exercises. Physical intensity may vary depending on the instructor.

First time on the Reformer?

The Reformer looks complicated, but it isn't. Before class your instructor shows you how the springs and the carriage work, helps you set up, and goes through every exercise with you slowly. You don't need any experience or extra flexibility. The Reformer helps you build it.

Three ways to start:

  • → Private class: the quickest way in. The instructor's attention is all on you. She takes you through the machine setup and the technique, and sets the pace to match your level. The most efficient choice if you want to get the hang of it fast.
  • → Beginner group classes: in the schedule, look for classes marked with the beginner level. You get the full group experience at a lower price. A good next step after a private class.
  • → Healthy Reformer: a slow pace with a therapeutic focus on the spine, joints and posture. Ideal if you want a gentle start or you're worried it will be too hard.

Class types

Reformer Strength & Tone

Focused on building muscle strength, toning and increasing endurance.

Healthy Reformer

slower

Healthy Reformer is designed for everyone who wants to train mindfully, safely and with focus on musculoskeletal health.

It blends classic Pilates Reformer training with functional therapeutic elements — targeting a healthy spine, joints, pelvis, posture and gentle CORE stabilisation. The class runs at a slower pace with emphasis on correct technique, breath and mindful movement.

Deep Core Reformer

slower, controlled

A class focused on the deep core muscles — transverse abdominals, pelvic floor, multifidus and diaphragm.

Performed at a slower, controlled pace with emphasis on precise activation, breath and mindful movement. Helps stabilise the spine, improve posture and build the kind of strength that supports every other activity. Suitable for clients managing back issues, beginners who want a safe entry to the Reformer, or anyone adding stability work to their training.

Full Body Reformer

medium, flowing

A comprehensive Reformer class for the whole body — one session covers strength work for legs, glutes, core and upper body.

Run at a medium, flowing pace with variable spring resistance and Pilates props for extra muscle activation. Builds muscular endurance, definition and functional strength across every major muscle group — the *one-stop* training session for when you want to cover everything.

Reformer Plus

A varied Reformer class that works with additional equipment alongside the Reformer.

The Chair or another prop shows up in every class and the combination changes each time, so no class repeats. The body works in positions and angles the Reformer alone does not reach. A good fit for anyone who already knows the Reformer and wants more variety without switching to a different style of training.
